Humanity

During my youth, there was no disconnect between us. Local bands handed flyers and cards to fans, and there was no Facebook.  We weren't afraid to look each other in the eye. Our conversations included everything; body language, energy, words. I don't dislike technology at all. It's amazing. But I hope it doesn't cause us to forget who we are and what we were once capable of doing without so much lazy opportunity at our fingertips. I hope we remember how to share our souls, and not just our selfies.

Art is slowly dying. The most common priority for "being an artist" is to make money for scraping by, and that has gone wrong on so many levels. One of my dreams is that more people will realize that there is a way around every hardship, and their lives can still change. To share our experiences with each other is one of the best ways to evolve and move forward. If we don't record ourselves somehow and be brave enough to show what we want people to see, we'll just disappear from history.
