It's been scientifically studied & proven that listening to music helps dilate blood vessels and improve circulatory function. (Nice prevention of atherosclerosis and blood clotting there. ) It works in a similar way to exercise. Isn't that neat? There's a radio show I like listening to once a week during my much coveted "me time", and now I've decided to call it part of my scheduled health regimen.
We're porous entities, and we've always worked more like sponges than stones. We absorb straight down to our most intimate core, and everything around us effects us to some degree. Even long distance sound waves, and energies from emotions will cause some kind of response in us. We're like an interface, connected to any other living entity; or inanimate one. Everything that passes through our bodies transforms us, so don't think things like eating and sleeping are the only things effecting mood and health. Subtle changes happen to us on all levels, every day, according to what's going on around our bodies and minds. (And that mind is such an incredible sponge- even more receptive than its shelter) A good sampling of this is paying attention to how children will start to respond and engage to something parents are trying to hide. They tune into pheromones and feelings even better than adults in most cases.
So the next time you're listening to someone talk, pay attention to their tone of voice and level of energy. Focus on how it makes you feel. We have an absurd amount of power spilling from our lips the minute we speak. And I think that's kind of awesome.
